Civic Support

The foundation helps citizens procure their Aadhar Card, Pan cards, Senior citizen cards and Ration cards. This service is also hugely appreciated by the citizens as the procedures are quite cumbersome which creates difficulties for them in processing the applications. A dedicated team has been appointed that promotes this work in the community. In this initiative awareness is spread among the community members about that needs to have these cards. The community members generally lack the information to pursue the process and apply for these cards thus the team members help in completing the formalities that involves seeking required documents, filling up of the forms and making application to the relevant department and follow up on the same.

Reach: Every year about 25,000 members of community are benefitted by this initiative.


Lodha Sport Academy for Boxing and Cricket

Lodha Foundation is promoting sports among youth and helping the budding enthusiasts to shape up their career is cricket and boxing. Under this programme under which the participants of the programme i.e. youths in the age group of 12 to 19 years are provided with rigorous training. The programme in conducted round the year except monsoon. The duration of the coaching for cricket is 6 months. The cricket ground facility at Cross Maidan Churchgate is the location where the training is being organised. There is a team of 4 cricket coaches and 1 boxing coach who are engaged in providing training to the team. Two training sessions are held; one in morning from 7 am to 9 am and one in evening from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Reach: Every year the programme trains 340 youths in cricket and 30 youths for boxing.


Tour of religious places

To fulfil the spiritual and emotional requirements of the Senior Citizens every day close to 39 senior citizens go for a day long pilgrimage to different religious locations within / nearby and nearby Mumbai. A special bus is hired for this purpose. This is a hugely popular program that covers following religious places : Ganapati temple, Titwala; Vitthal Mandir, Wadala; Ashapura Mandir, Thane; Shiv Temple & Dutta Temple, Dombivli and Vitthal Mandir, Sahar for one batch of people. For the Jain community the tour covers Mahavir Dham, Virar; Lodha Dham, Vasai and Sankeshwar Dham, Kaman. The persons from Vaishnav community are taken on tour to Havelies (Temples) at Ville Parle; Santacruz and Vashi, Kandivali.


Celebrating Joy of Giving Week

Special initiative is taken every year to celebrate Joy of Giving Week the "festival of philanthropy" by engaging employees in Lodha Group to donate for charitable organizations working for different cause. Every year few NGOs working for the cause of development of society and undertaking relief work are selected to be supported for their cause. The employees are encouraged to donate for the cause that is close to their heart. The funds collected are subsequently given to the respective NGOs as donation from Lodha Foundation. The foundation is thus promoting this important aspect by involving employees to become part of this national movement. Banners; posters; displays and e mails at workplace continue to motivate the employees making this event a success every year.


Relief Work

Lodha Foundation has been proactive in undertaking relief work in different communities in urban and rural areas. On 21st November 2013 fire broke out in Ambedkar Nagar slum in Cuffe Parade, Mumbai which destroyed about 500 homes and 2,500 persons were affected. Lodha Foundation planned an intervention to support the affected families by supplying them with food provisions. A ration pack containing of sugar 2kg, rice 4kg, wheat 7kg, pulses 1.5kg, Salt 1kg and tea 250gms were provided to the families who were affected by fire. A total of 522 families were benefitted through this initiative. The aim of this initiative was to give the much needed support to the families who had lost almost everything in the fire the essential items so that they can start cooking their own food.


Mumbai Mobile Crèches

The foundation has partnered with Mumbai Mobile Crèches for last 5 years to provide child friendly construction sites. This initiative of Lodha Group is indeed a positive step and helps the families working in construction industry. Assistance is given to extremely vulnerable and marginalised children so that they have the opportunity and space to enjoy their right to learning and having fun. Currently the foundation is running two centres one in Thane and other at Dombivli. 23 children in the age group of 0-3 years are given services of Crèche and 27 children in the age group of 3-5 years are put in the care of Balwadi while 30 children above 6 years are provided education as per their age group. Total 80 children are benefitting from this initiative.


Self Defence Classes

Self defence programme for girls and women in the age group of 18 – 30 years are organised regularly. This programme was initiated keeping in view the rising crimes against women especially those related to physical assaults etc. The training is imparted on the Karate techniques that fall in white belt category. Spread across one month duration the programme has 15 sessions of two hours durations each. The training helps the women to defend themselves without use of any weapon. The training not only gives them the training to use their hands and legs to counterattack but also trains them on the psychological aspects of communicating with the assaulter. The trainees are selected and classes are conducted in the colleges. Two batches are run simultaneously to benefit women.


Lodha Dham & Lodha Vatika

Lodha Dham was established 2013 in 1.5 acres land at Vasai close to Mumbai provides a place for the Jain pilgrims and saints to stay there for short duration during their pilgrimage. It has a dharamshala; Jain temple, library, dormitory and facility where various religious functions can be held. Similarly Lodha Vatika established in 2014 in Bhivandi near Mumbai – Nasik Highway can accommodate about 2000 persons. It provides a resting place for the pilgrims who travel on foot to to Sai Baba temple in Shirdi. It has a huge Sai Baba temple with scenic and beautiful surrounding. About 20, 000 pilgrims and about 50, 000 visitors are expected to come to Lodha Vatika every year. Both places have good arrangements for providing food and refreshments to the pilgrims.


Helpline Number – 1278

Lodha Foundation has established at 24 x 7 helpline for citizens living on Walkeshwar, Khetwadi, Tardeo, Girgaum, Gamdevi, Operah House and Malabal Hills in Mumbai. It provides information and registers civic complaints in an effort to make the administrative system more responsive and accountable. A dedicated person has been appointed to register the complaints received. The complaints received are sent to the expert panel which deals with such matter. The complainer is updated on regular basis about the complaint filed by him / her. The complaints if not resolved by expert team is sent to the senior team and agencies for follow-up. Every complaint has a unique tracking number.


Cowshed

Cowshed has been established by the foundation at Bhivandi, close to Mumbai. The place provides shelter to 42 cows in the cowshed. Indian culture provided status of God to the cows and they are also worshiped in many parts of the country. But unfortunately cows in country are being sent to slaughter house and there is no mechanism to protect them. To protect these cows the foundation brings cows to the shelter who are roaming in the roads and do not have any owner and many cows are also bought from their owners and provided food and shelter. The cows are looked after and their health is taken care off. These cows are feed with nourishing and protein, vitamin rich foods. They are regularly examined by veterinary doctors & treated accordingly.


The Grihalaxmi Game Show

Lodha Foundation envisaged The Grihalaxmi Game Show was to allow women generally housewives from Mumbai to come out of their daily chores and have some lighter moments along with their neighbours to feel rejuvenated. A team from the foundation visits the identified locality with appropriate arrangements and organises different games for females. The games were focussed on allowing women to express themselves and be able to enjoy the moment. Each game show allows about 100 females to participate with the event spanning over 3 hours. The game shows are organised around the year. Till now more than 400 game shows covering over 40,000 females from different walk of life have been organised successfully.


Tukaram Omble Statue

Tukaram Omble was an assistant sub-inspector (ASI), and a retired army man who had entered the Mumbai police. He sacrificed his life during the 2008 Mumbai attacks, fighting terrorists at Girgaum Chowpatty and played a pivotal role in catching Ajmal Kasab alive, the lone survivor who was later convicted and sentenced to death for perpetrating the heinous crime on humanity. The Indian government honored Omble with the Ashoka Chakra – for the most conspicuous bravery or an act of daring or pre-eminent valour or self-sacrifice – on 26 January 2009. His team was under-equipped for the attack, but managed to kill one terrorist and arrest the only terrorist taken alive - Ajmal Kasab. Lodha Foundation has established his status in Girgaum Chowpatty on 26th November 2009.


Helpdesk for the Cooperative Housing Society

Lodha Foundation has started helpdesk for the Cooperative Housing Society. Lodha Foundation though its website aims to provide information that will be of help to the CHS to effectively functions. These matters relate to seeking deemed conveyance, addressing fire and security issues and undertaking various functions in the CHS. The website aims to help the CHS identify their needs based on their size etc. and guides them to seek relevant services from different sources.
